Velvet is run by Capacity Entertainment LLC (“Capacity”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what Velvet collects when you visit a Velvet page, sign up for a presale, or get our texts and emails.

When you register for a presale, we collect:

  • Email address (required)
  • Name (required)
  • Phone number (if requested by the event organizer)
  • Location/city (if requested by the event organizer)
  • Ticket quantity preferences
  • Show/market preferences
  • Any additional information requested by the event organizer

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit our site or register, we automatically collect:

  • IP Address: Used to determine your approximate location (city, region, country) and prevent abuse
  • Browser Geolocation: If you grant permission, we collect precise location data to improve your experience
  • Referral Source: How you found the registration page (e.g., social media, email)
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system for security and compatibility
  • Page Views: Which pages you visit and when, including UTM parameters for marketing attribution

How We Use Your Information

  • To process your presale registration
  • To send you presale codes and event information
  • To help event organizers understand demand in different markets

Text Messages (SMS)

If you opt in to texts, Velvet sends presale codes, on-sale alerts and show announcements for the artists you follow. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts from Velvet, or HELP for help. You can also email hello@velvet.live.

Mobile phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. We share them only with the service providers that deliver our messages. The organizer of an event you register for can see the phone number on that registration, but texts come from Velvet.

Location Data

We collect location data to help event organizers understand where their fans are located and to personalize your experience:

  • IP-based location: Collected automatically and provides approximate location (city-level)
  • Browser location: Only collected with your explicit permission. You can deny this when your browser prompts you

You can prevent browser location collection by denying permission when prompted. IP-based location is necessary for service operation and abuse prevention.

Data Sharing

Your registration data is shared with:

  • Event Organizers: The promoter or artist running the presale campaign you registered for
  • Service Providers: Companies that help us operate (email delivery, SMS, hosting)

We do not sell your personal information.

Data Retention

We retain your registration data for as long as needed to fulfill the presale campaign purposes and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping and analytics. You can request deletion by contacting us.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format

Security
